You can use ComDebug as a terminal programme see all bytes sent and received - even non-printing characters. Crucial if you need to cope with binary data. With the Communications Status display you can see all your computer knows about any serial errors

ComDebug is packaged with a trial of the Windmill 7 data acquisition software suit and serial driver for logging, charting and output control of up to 10 instruments with many logging options, including: Logging only when new data is available from your instrument; Logging to a new data file at regular intervals; Logging data only when channels are in an alarm state; Logging data for a fixed duration; Using Excel to start and stop logging

With a flexible approach to building command strings, and parsing the received data strings to extract data values, both ComDebug and Windmill support the majority of analytical instruments. These include GPS, scales, balances, RFID readers, pH transmitters, data loggers, PIC microcontrollers, I2C devices, plcs and laboratory instruments.

You have the freedom to mix and match equipment from many different manufacturers in many combinations.
