Stardust Desktop Lock 5 is a small and convenient tool, useful for quickly locking down your computer system.

When a computer is locked down it is "password protected". During this phase it is either sleeping, displaying a login screen, a screen saver or asking for a password. Desktop Lock puts your computer into that state, in accordance with policies defined by your machine.

As a user, should you need to step away from your computer, simply double-click the installed Desktop Lock icon and your desktop will be (after a short delay, as defined by Windows policies) protected from prying eyes.

Other utilities are available to immediately start a screen saver, however Desktop Lock is different because it does not require a screen saver (it will prompt you for one if not set, but a screen saver is not required) and also because simply starting a screen saver does not ensure your system is secure. (For example, what if the screen saver is not password protected?)

Desktop Lock takes care of securing your system wth the built-in functionality of Windows using a simple double-click of an icon.

This product, previously only available to business clients, is designed for Windows XP on forward, and is provided to you at no charge by Stardust Software. Feel free to use it if you like, or if not, simply use the uninstaller to remove it from your system.
