ShapeBook with 2D3DSteel 3.10
Structural steel shapes are available in US imperial and metric units. The dynamic user interface provides fast shape selection. Shape lists can be saved to a file, and the current list and shape selection can be automatically saved when you exit and then automatically restored the next time you run ShapeBook.
Your shape list and the currently selected shape are automatically converted to metric, or US Imperial, whenever the units mode is changed. You can search and select shapes using up to three different search keys, each with a separate property with minimum and maximum values.
You can use the weight and surface area calculator on the selected shape to calculate total weight and surface area. All you provide is the quantity and length. 2D3DSteel 2.1 is an AutoCAD VLX application that draws steel shapes in AutoCAD 2000 through 2005. Any of the shapes available in ShapeBook can be quickly added, in 2D or 3D, to your AutoCAD drawings.
ShapeBook with 2D3DSteel is a time locked 30 day free trial. All of the program features are available during the trial period. After 30 days you will need to purchase a registration key to continue using the program. The detailing dimensions and design properties are displayed in ShapeBook`s corresponding display tabs on the main dialog box.
ShapeBook uses AISC criteria for determining the approximate detailing dimensions in fractional inches. The design properties are shown in decimal. The individual dimensions and properties can be copied into the clipboard and then pasted into another application.
Tooltips provide helpful descriptions of all the dimensions and properties. ShapeBook provides hard copy output to your printer, all on one sheet including a diagram.
Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors, Internet Webmaster(s) and Internet Web Sites may have charged a nominal fee for the Shareware distribution of ShapeBook. This fee does not constitute payment for ShapeBook registration, and does not entitle the end user to use ShapeBook for longer than the 30 day evaluation period. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are required to register it. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and retail software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as stated in the ShapeBook End User License Agreement (EULA) see the "License.htm" file. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like retail authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group. For example, some authors require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.
Distributing:
You are encouraged to pass a copy of ShapeBook along to your friends and colleagues for evaluation. If you do so, you must provide them with the entire set of ShapeBook files. Do not simply copy the files off your hard drive. ShapeBook must be installed using the Setup program or it will not function correctly! If you intend to charge for distribution, you must adhere to the requirements of the pad_file.xml file.
