(Eco-friendly application)

GreenPhone is a first of it`s kind Eco-friendly application for Symbian Series 60 devices which allows you to save on your phone`s battery and charger life. Greenphone alerts you to several power consumption modules of your phone so that you can remove the charger or shut down the unwanted services to preserve power and in turn help saving the environment.

Greenphone has advanced algorithms that help the software quickly get call back from the device when the battery is "optimally" charged, Bluetooth, WLAN are active and there is no data transfer and when the backlight is not in use, Greenphone shuts it down. Greenphone aims to alert the user by means of SMS so that you know when the phone is using resources which are not required. This application is a small step in converting your Series 60 device into a Eco-friendly hardware, or GreenPhone.

The main features of this application are:
- Backlight: This module dims the phones backlight as per your customization. Normal Series 60 handsets allow backlight dim timing to start from 5 seconds. With Greenphone you can set the backlight time out to as little as 1 second.
- Charger Saving:
GreenPhone will alert you as soon as the battery of your phone is 100%. Charger saving mode will inform you by means of an SMS that the phones battery is optimally charged and that the phone should be removed to preserve the charger and to avoid any damage to the battery.
- Bluetooth Time out: How many times have you forgotten to switch off the Bluetooth after transferring files? Chances are, several times. To ensure that the Bluetooth of your phone does not remain active when you are not using it, Greenphone will alert you by sending an SMS to you asking you to switch off your Bluetooth.
- WLAN Timeout: An SMS is sent to you when the WLAN of your phone is switched on despite activity on the WLAN network. This will help you save battery as WLAN is a major battery consumer.
