Foresight 2.01

The Foresight Budget Planner was designed to assist a typical household put together a budget that makes sense. When we first started using Foresight, my wife and I laid out our estimated monthly expenses by category. Once I took a look at our four-week estimate of where we would be if we spent according to plan it became clear to me why we were struggling to keep our finances out of the red. After less than three months of using this system, we finally have a handle on our debt, and we have a budget that makes sense.

The best part about the system is it gives you a quick look at where you will be if you spend according to your budget. You can look four weeks ahead, four months ahead or four year ahead. The Foresight Budget Planner will give you a best estimate according to how you set up your spending plans. Simply uses the calendar tool on the budget panel to click on the dates you are planning for and foresight will estimate your financial situation for that week and the following month.

You can manage more than one account with Foresight. It will allow you to manage up to 100 accounts simultaneously, enough to run a small or large business.

Foresight provides security. You’re files can be stored in an encrypted format, and protected with a 32-character password. Foresight uses FIPS PUB 81 Data Encryption Standard (DES).

Foresight will store your files in unencrypted XML format as well. This gives you portability for your data. You can use XSLT to transform the data into some other format, or you can upload your data into Excel or some other spreadsheet program for doing charts or data forecasts.

Foresight gives you a quick look at how you are spending your money with a pie chart and legend that will show you percentages per category.

You can also sort your data by date, category, amount, or the way you originally entered the data.
